Absolutely amazing piece of kit

Absolutely amazing piece of kit. We have a young female cat and we live in a farm house. She is a crazily prolific hunter and has been bringing in at least 3 mice a day for two years. Sometimes dead, sometimes alive.

We finally had enough and got the OnlyCat. It’s a straight fit replacement for the SureFlap we already have (seems to be the same plastic case just modified).

Since installing in mid December it’s never failed once. We have two cats and neither one of them has been able to bring anything in. The only thing is got wrong once that was it barred entry to our cat not carrying anything, however you can easily report these instances in the app and they soon get sorted.

My only slight niggle is that I wish there was a rechargeable version, I wouldn’t mind if that resulted in a massive battery pack on the door alongside it as running permanent power to a door that opens is a bit of a pain. Sure I could experiment myself with something like this but an approved battery from OnlyCat would give me peace of mind.

If you have a problem with cat gifts you will not regret buying this. Absolutely genius.

EDIT: Just bumped it up to a five star from a four star on the basis that we had a problem with our OnlyCat, partly their fault, partly our fault. It’s our first time dealing with the customer service and they are amazingly good and understanding of the issues we’re facing. They want to make the device work and clearly care about it. Deserves the full five stars just for that, a refreshing attitude.

Best buy of 2025

I’ve never had a problem with finding dead things when getting up in the morning, those I can deal with. It’s the live ones. Our boy is a supreme hunter, but he’s in it for the sport rather than the kill. We’d managed to deal with it until the last one. He brought in a rat that got under our kitchen units, and it would not go for any of the traps we set. I even resorted to poison, which I said I’d never do, but even that failed. Two months it lived with us! Eventually we managed to starve it out and get it to leave with a strategically placed bit of cat food and an open door. After this we got and installed the Only Cat. Unbelievable. He’s not actually tried to bring anything in, but it has stopped him coming in when he tried to attack the camera saying Contraband Suspected. Our stress levels are now at zero. Thank you. Best buy of 2025 for us. 👍

It’s very simple: since we installed the OnlyCat Flap our 3 cats do have more time to relax without hunting their ‘gifts’ through the house and by the way – we do have the same advantage! The OnlyCat Flap works perfectly well and was the best investment for our cats as well as for us👍

Cat flap experience

We have the OnlyCat flap now for more than half a year. Since we’ve had the flap, we haven’t had a single mouse in the house! No more nighttime hunts for rodents, no gross mouse remains in the morning—fantastic. We can’t imagine life without this flap anymore (our two cats can).

The cat flap to stop infiltrators and unwanted gifts.

We’ve had the OnlyCat cat flap for a week or so. It certainly lives up to its claims. Buddy got used to the new flap within a couple of hours, even though his first encounter was a refusal because he was carrying contraband. The gadget has stopped a dozen or more unwelcome gifts, and even an unaccompanied entry attempt by a large rat. A microchipped but unknown cat was refused entry, and a call to NZCAR quoting the number revealed it was a local trying it on, rather than a lost pet. It’s an expensive but excellent and worthwhile product. The company responded quickly and well with pre-sales enquiries, and the delivery UK to NZ was within a week.

Fantastic prey detection

The Onlycat cat flap has been in use here for 10 days and I am absolutely delighted. The 4 mice my two cats dragged home in that time were all detected, and access was reliably refused even over several attempts. It is an absolute game changer, after having had to catch mice alive or scrape them together in pieces almost every day at times.
It is a rather expensive cat flap, but given this extra prey detection feature it is absolutely worth the price.
The cats quickly worked out that without prey they get let in. Installation and using the app are easy. The app is not as polished yet as Sureflap's, for example, but I hope that will follow.
If a setting cannot be made yourself, support takes care of it within a few hours.
Shipping from the UK to Switzerland went perfectly within about 2 weeks. I would definitely buy the flap again!

Fantastische Beuteerkennung

Die Onlycat Katzenklappe ist bei mir seit 10 Tagen in Betrieb und ich bin total begeistert. Die 4 Mäuse, welche meine beiden Katzen in diesen Tagen angeschleppt hatten, wurden alle erkannt und der Zugang auch bei mehreren Versuchen zuverlässig verwehrt. Es ist ein absoluter Gamechanger nachdem ich bis jetzt teilweise fast jeden Tag Mäuse lebendig einfangen oder in Einzelteilen zusammenkratzen musste.
Es ist zwar eine eher teure Katzenklappe, aber angesichts dieser Zusatzfunktion der Beuteerkennung den Preis absolut wert.
Die Katzen haben schnell gemerkt, dass es ohne Beute den Zugang frei gibt. Die Installation und die Appbedienung ist einfach. Die App ist noch nicht so ausgereift wie beispielsweise diese von Sureflap, aber ich hoffe das folgt noch.
Können Einstellungen nicht selber gemacht werden, wird dies aber innert ein paar Stunden vom Support erledigt.
Der Versand aus der UK in die Schweiz hat innert rund 2 Wochen einwandfrei geklappt. Ich würde die Klappe auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen!

Warning to other customers

Warning to other customers: our experience with this product has been extremely disappointing. The device repeatedly failed to work as advertised. If our cat dropped prey over the camera, it locked her out permanently, meaning if you’re not home, your cat is stuck outside with no way in. We also received false “access granted” alerts for a cat that wasn’t ours, constant disconnections, errors, and confusing jargon-filled notifications.

Despite these serious issues, the company refused to acknowledge the product as faulty. We tested it for one day using removable adhesive, yet they offered only a £250 refund because of minor cosmetic marks, ignoring all the functional problems when we paid an extortionate £500 for the product. Their responses were generic, dismissive and unprofessional, focusing on their manufacturing costs instead of the faults.

For the high price of this device, the quality and customer service were nowhere near acceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this product or this company and I strongly advise others to think twice before buying.

Constant AI responses and unprofessional messages telling us how they don’t make any profit and don’t pay themselves. I can’t believe a company would even say this to a customer. Clearly the reason why they won’t issue a full refund and have only ever offered replacements to other customers in the past and never a refund as per consumer rights.

I had such high hopes but it is not fit for purpose.Do not purchase!!!

This cat flap does exactly what it says and is brilliant.

We installed our new cat flap a week ago and it has already proved invaluable. We have two cats who are prolific hunters, and they have been trying to bring gifts in every day, but onlycat has worked as it should each time. We learned the first night we had to turn the volume down on our phones as we were rudely awoken by the alarm at about 3.30am! At least we knew it worked! The cats can come and go freely now, unless they have additional livestock, so we have two happy cats and two happy, more relaxed cat parents.

It really works very well!!!

Onlycat flap works perfectly. Our cat Ulisse used to bring at home mices, birds and lizards still alive!!!! Now we are happy and he comes home when he wants but if he arrives with a prey the flaps don’t let him coming in!!! We have the onlycat door with glass adapter.

If there was a million star rating I would give it, I absolutely love this cat flap!

Having been a cat owner all my life I was super excited to be welcoming 2 new kittens into my home, but equally terrified of the unwanted ‘presents’ that would undoubtable follow.

When I saw this product I was a tad dubious, how would it or could it work? But I am so glad I made the investment.

So far it has prevented them bringing me a feather, a flower bulb, various sticks, twigs and leaves, and an apple!

I have absolute confidence that when they are big enough to catch their first victim, I will not be chasing it around the house or even worse, unknowingly living with it!

And on top of that, the OnlyCat help team have been amazing, helping me set up various door policies to accommodate both my new kittens ever changing needs as well as allowing my existing older cat the freedom she is used to.

Genuinely, if you are thinking about buying this product – DO IT, you really won’t regret it.

Thank you OnlyCat for making my life and my kittens lives a better one.

Get one!! Iv had mine apx 2 weeks (im in the UK) i got the no subscription one just incase wifi ever goes down. Im very impressed with customer services. I found it faster to call them via their website (go to chat and press the call button at the top) the product does exactly as it says. I get a mini video every time the cat exits and enters the house. It has sent me videos of neighbours cats trying to enter and the device denied entry. My cat has decided not to bring any rodent friends in so far but i feel confident that if she tries she will be blocked. She no longer wakes me up to go out at silly o’clock in the morning or smears my windows from the outside trying to get in. Im so glad the customer services is so good because the device was a huge investment for me and if i have any issues i know they are trustworthy to sort the issue. I wish i bought one sooner! 10/10 i 100% reccomend this product

I’m Witcher, a black cat, and I live with my adopted humans and my furry brother. First of all, I’d like to thank you for the great box and the interestingly smelling blue plastic bag you sent us—it’s so much fun playing with!
But seriously, what’s with this strange cat flap? Something’s definitely wrong! Whenever I want to bring my pack a plump, round mouse or a tasty baby rat, the cat flap won’t let me in! I’m the family hunter, and I’m used to bringing home one to three delicious prey items every day! My humans are unfortunately far too clumsy and stupid to catch mice themselves, and if I don’t bring them their meals, I’m very worried they’ll starve! Besides, we all used to have so much fun hunting a living mouse together at 3 a.m.! Are you expecting me to eat all the mice myself now? Do you want me to get chubby??? Think about it! …

The Gold Standard in cat doors

OnlyCat was exactly what we needed and so much more! I can’t say enough great things about the customer service I received or the quality and functionality of the product. We have 2 cats that showed up on our rural property and needless to say they can hunt, often bringing ‘gifts’ inside the cabin. When we started building our dream home we knew we needed something very different than the regular cat door we had into the cabin. I looked around and stumbled upon OnlyCat. Thank goodness I did, it exceeds our expectations and I couldn’t be happier. Not only does it keep unwanted ‘gifts’ outside but far more. Im VERY impressed with the customer…

Im VERY impressed with the customer service and delivery speed. This was a huge investment for me and im so glad this company can be trusted, it was a serious worry for me that if something went wrong would I have a nightmare getting a refund,,,,. My inital onlycat catflap and extra wires and connector product arrived within a few days. There was an issue allowing her to exot the house only, everything else worked fine. When I explained this via phone using their website I was suprised how helpful they were, they apologised and sent a replacement which arrived the next morning! Its exactly how every company should be.
The app is very easy to use. I already had a non ai cat flap fitted so I was able to easily slot this new cat flap in the space my old one was.
My cat was banned from the old cat flap for over 12 months due to bringing home rodent ‘friends’ and its so lovley she can come and go as she pleases again. Iv only had the cat flap a week, the new replacement only a few days.
I just wanted anyone else wondering if they should get one of these ai catflaps to know they 100% should! I havent got the best of health at the moment so it really has helped and i feel confident that i could go awaybfor a night or 2 and she would be 100% ok, i truly feel i can rely on this product to work while im not here

The best invention for cat owners!

We are so happy with our face-recognition cat door from Only Cat. It’s truly the best invention! Our cat can now go in and out by herself whenever she wants, while our house stays completely free of mice and birds. The app and video feature are amazing too — I can easily see whether she’s inside or outside at any moment.we had it installed over a year ago. Absolutely love it and highly recommend!

Fisrt didn't work, but was fixed with a new device

I received and try to install the onlycat But IT DIDN’T WORK!!!
Tried to contact onlycat severall times, but they don’t respond at all.

After a few days i finaly got a response. They send me a new product. The problem was the wifi antenna of the device.
