The unit is AI driven, there’s no doubt about it. Your cat might figure out how to get around it sometimes, or they might not. This has blocked almost every single instance of prey being brought in that I can think of. I have so many hilarious videos of my cat with contraband being stopped.
OnlyCat has created a product that has no equal in the market. If you let your cat outside, you’re either using a regular cat door or you are there opening and closing the door for them. This takes all of that work out of your hands, but like any item you need to understand the terminology. OnlyCat has an excellent Facebook group with tons of people who can help assist or provide suggestions regarding your catflap.
We travel a lot and due to this we needed a way to keep our cats in at night so they’re safe. This alone is worth the peace of mind to make sure my cats are safe while we are gone.
OnlyCat continues to improve the product and roll out features, and I’m excited to see what’s on tap for 2026. The price tag is worth it, you just need to take a little time to understand how it works before you come guns blazing for the OnlyCat team. Play around with the policies, read the instructions, join the FB group to see the monthly leaderboard if nothing else. I have see over and over again the level of care and attention OnlyCat provides to its users, creating custom polices for tricky scenarios, or getting on the phone and troubleshooting through issues with people over their cat door. Have and will remain very impressed with OnlyCat product and their amazing team.

Favourite purchase of 2025
I have 4 cats, 2 that go outside and 2 that don’t. On the days that I am at work, I am out of the house for 15 hours, I also work many night shifts. I previously had many pre-night shift dramas, of trying to find and get the outdoor cats in before leaving for work or risk arriving home, the next morning, to unwanted gifts, either dead on the kitchen floor or alive and hiding. One of my favourite features is being able to, remotely lock the cat flap, once I can see on my pet cam, that they are in for the night and safe and then unlock it, for their pr-breakfast hunt, before I arrive home.
I have had a few contraband detections of rodents and a visiting cat, all of which were not permitted to enter.
Watching the recordings, of activity at my back door is entertaining for me, work colleagues and family.
It fit perfectly in my previous sure flap gap. I have been absolutely delighted with it and have had no issues.
It took 1 of my cats a few hours to get used to it and the other a couple of days.
Although I have had no issues with the cat flap I did reach out to customer services for support, in the early days, due to me being blonde and not very tech savvy, the support I received was almost immediate and extremely helpful and the owners FB page is helpful and fun too.

Over six months of experience and mostly positive.
We have had the Only Cat cat flap for about six months now and we are satisfied. The "presents" stay outside. One of the cats did once manage to bring a mouse in, but that was because the camera was dirty, so clean it regularly! Once a dead mouse was laid on the camera and the cat could get in (chipped) and then tried to grab the mouse from the inside; luckily I was faster. One small drawback is the many software restarts (because of bugs?), which need improving, and I hope they are fixed soon.

Ruim half jaar ervaring en overwegend positief.
We hebben de Only Cat kattenluik nu zo'n half jaar en zijn tevreden. De "cadeautjes" blijven buiten. Een keer was het een kat gelukt om een muis binnen te brengen, maar dat was omdat de camera vervuild was, dus geregeld reinigen! Een keer werd een dode muis op de camera gelegd en kon de kat wel naar binnen (gechipt) en probeerde deze de muis van binnenuit te pakken, ik was gelukkig sneller. Een minpuntje is de vele herstarts van de software (wegens bugs?), deze vraagt om verbeteringen, ik hoop dat deze spoedig worden verholpen.

Leaks like a sieve.
Second issue is the flap part itself is smaller meaning bigger gaps all around for draught to get in.
Third issue is a big one, it leaks. Prolifically. My sure flap was almost ten years old and didn’t leak. The onlycat is like my own personal indoor waterfall as soon as it rains. I’ve made the suggested cover (plans are sent for free or you can pay another £20 on top of your unit to have one made and sent). I’ve made a larger than suggested cover and I have silicon sealed around the fascia and between the fascia and unit. I couldn’t tell you how the water is getting in but it’s going to ruin my floor and god knows what it’s doing to the inside of my door and the internals of the cat flap. It drips through right next to the power input connection. For £510 (you pay extra for postage!!) I had high hopes and I’m beyond disappointed.
