Before you begin
A little preparation.
Connect first. Fit second.
Complete app setup and test your OnlyCat and Wi-Fi connection before permanent fitting. Plan the route to a mains socket; a 3 m USB-C cable is included by default.
Connect and test your OnlyCatPlan with your glazier
Have a qualified glazier prepare the opening. Most glass cannot be cut in place, and a new pane may be needed. Do not attempt to cut toughened glass yourself.
For a new opening, specify a 212 mm diameter. Agree its height and clearance with your glazier before ordering, following the measurements below.
Choose a Mounting Adaptor to suit your opening. For an existing cutout, ask us to confirm the right size.
Have these ready
- Mounting Adaptor
- Clear all-weather sealant
- Ruler and spirit level
- Protective gloves and a cleaning cloth
- Cross-head screwdriver
- Supplied screws and caps
- A helper for fitting
Glass edges may be sharp. Wear protective gloves and keep the assembly supported throughout fitting.

Under no circumstances should you cut or drill through OnlyCat’s tunnel. It contains the microchip reading antennas; damaging them will prevent the unit from working properly.
These illustrations show the round Mounting Adaptor in a fixed glazed panel. Check door movement and cable clearance if fitting into a glazed door. For other surfaces, use the door or wall guide.
Plan the glass
Arrange the prepared opening
For a new cutout, ask your glazier to prepare a Ø 212 mm circular opening. Our range of Mounting Adaptors can cover existing cutouts up to Ø 300 mm.
Plan the glass
Agree the centre height
Measure your cat’s tummy height and add 56 mm to find the opening’s centre height above the floor.
Plan the glass
Specify a non-metallic spacer
For double or triple glazing, ask the glazier to use a non-metallic spacer bar around the opening.
Fit your OnlyCat
Choose the screw length
Measure the full glass unit thickness. Choose supplied screws that are 20–35 mm longer than this measurement.
Fit your OnlyCat
Seal both adaptor halves
Apply a strip of clear all-weather sealant around the ribbed, glass-facing surface of both Mounting Adaptor halves, about 15 mm in from the outer edge.
Fit your OnlyCat
Fit the first adaptor half
Slide either Mounting Adaptor half over the OnlyCat tunnel. Keep the sealant-coated back facing outwards, towards the glass.
Fit your OnlyCat
Fit OnlyCat from inside
Guide the tunnel through the prepared opening from indoors. Centre it and check that it is level, then press OnlyCat and the adaptor firmly against the glass to compress the sealant.
Fit your OnlyCat
Add the second adaptor half
From outside, slide on the second Mounting Adaptor half with its sealant-coated back facing the glass.
Fit your OnlyCat
Secure the external frame
Slide the external frame over the tunnel. Fit the selected screws, tightening one side and then the other.
Fit your OnlyCat
Press in the screw caps
Once the external frame is secure, press in both screw caps to complete the fitting.
Connect the power
Connect and route the cable
Connect the L-shaped USB-C plug beneath the indoor unit, pointing towards the socket. Secure the cable along the inside of the glass where it meets the frame, then plug in the Power Adaptor and switch on the socket.
Fitted. Ready for them.
Now make it theirs.
Once fitting and setup are complete, give your cat time to get comfortable with their new way home. Follow the sealant manufacturer’s curing instructions.
Head back to app setup to add your cats and choose their house rules.
