I can finally enjoy my baby… and my cat!

I can’t believe this exists but I’m so glad it does. We moved to rural Northumberland from London suburbia in February, had a baby in March and ever since our cat would bring prey up to 4 times a night sometimes. A mixture of hares, rabbits, rats, mice, birds. It was relentless. I nearly became postnatally depressed because of it . No one wants to be dealing with rat clean up when you have a young infant. The worms and the parasite risk was freaking me out. I was at my wits end. I wanted to give my cat back to the RSPCA – I hate to say it but I hated the cat I once doted on back down south. My husband and I were constantly having arguments about the cat. He wanted to keep her, I wanted her gone!

Thank god I found OnlyCat on the internet as a suitable compromise. I thought it was a scam at first but after seeing it was created by two brothers, also based in Northumberland… I thought it can’t be a coincidence that in the most rural county in England cats are such prolific hunters.

Needless to say, I have peace of mind now. I don’t have to keep asking my husband before he goes to work if he’s done a ‘mouse check’… I don’t need to ask my neighbours to pick up the dead rabbit because I’m too scared of getting a disease. I can actually enjoy my baby because I’m not walking round the house scared of stepping on a mouse.

Thank you for this invention! It’s a life saver. Literally. The app is also very amusing and easy to use. Please invest in this if you love cats but have a phobia of rodents and disease!

I only wish I had bought this sooner

I only wish I had bought this sooner. It works. A bonus is it keeps next doors cat out as well so no more guessing how much our Smudge has eaten today.
I don’t use it to its full potential as I don’t need to but no more chasing live mice around at silly o’clock in the morning is all I wanted and this delivers.
We’ve had this over a year now and not a single problem with it.

No more "gifts"

We have had the flap for just over a year. We had 5 cats, 3 were hunters. We now just have the hunters. The flap has been the best thing ever. No more live “gifts” or trying to find the dead ones. No more waking up to body parts every where. The customer service is 5*. Our biggest cat who was part mainecoon even got through the flap. The flap is being upgraded all the time so more and more features are being added.

Great Innovation

I’ve had Only Cat since the very start and it’s amazing. My cats have learned it’s not worth even trying to bring anything in as they’ve realised they’re locked out. On the few occasions there’s been a glitch in the software, the team have very quickly fixed it for me. They’re very helpful and are a pleasure to deal with. I like being able to set times when the cats can come and go – I change the times so they’re always in when it’s dark. Thank you so much Tomas and team

1 Year and no regrets

After just over a year with two new cats and a OnlyCat flap I really don’t regret the purchase at all. My latest cats are very efficient mousers, and since the installation of a OnlyCat flap, we have only had one mouse indoors (and that was because we stupidly left the door open). Both cats no longer attempt to bring anything indoors having learnt that it isn’t going to work. We have had a couple of issues with the flap, but when we contacted Customer Service we were answered very quickly and the issue has been sorted without any problem.

I like the product but..

I like the product, i have 4 cats but dissapointed that the flap is so small. My smallest cat are 3.9kg and the biggest 5.3kg. They are 2 mix breeds, 1 balinese cat and a neva masquerade 8 months old. Two of them struggle to get through..like its hard to get the back legs with them so they need to wiggle(balinese cat and neva)..because the opening is so small. 1 of the 4 refuses to use it and the last one is highly skeptic (but he fits okay i think). . None of them are overweight.
I wish there was couple of sizes to choose from esp that there would be a XL or XXL size. We will try to build extra stairs esp outsideto see if the flap is “too high” but im afraid that it will not be useful for us and spending sooo much money😓

The app is great btw.

An absolute Godsend

An absolute Godsend. I have had my OnlyCat for over a year. After aproximately 6 months wait, I was one of the early buyers, it finally arrived. Well…… one of the best buys I have Ever made. After being awoken in the middle of the night on a regular basis with a dead or live mouse in the house. I was traumatised. But thanks to OnlyCat I have enjoyed going to bed stress free and able to sleep all through the night for over a year. Also, it prevents a pesky unknown cat trying to get into my house. Not cheap but believe me, worth it. Customer service is without fault and I’ve rarely had such a pleasant experience. Thank you OnlyCat team. If you are hesitating…… don’t, just get it

This has brought calm to our house.

After some minor teething issues with keeping the device connected to the WiFi, I have to say this product is proving life changing. Since installing it we have not had one mouse brought in. This has meant no more chasing live ones around the house or finding half eaten remains on the floor. My wife was scared everyday of getting up and seeing live or dead mice. The flap has stopped our cat everytime with remarkable accuracy. It is expensive and we were somewhat cynical but it has been worth every penny to remove the fear and the time spent chasing rodents.
A fantastic product I would highly recommend to anyone who suffers with their cats bringing prey in. Thank you onlycat.

OnlyCat is a great product and the staff are simply fantastic! Problems with our WiFi were handled patiently and in the end we were online! Very soon our Zima tried to bring in a mouse, which she did not manage. After that she came in without one — the device is a relief! Thank you for everything!

Worth every penny for a peaceful night!

I’ve had the Catflap for a couple of months and it’s worth every penny, especially when our cat tried to bring a rat in! The AI camera is still learning which means it sometimes suspects contraband even when there isn’t any but instances are very rare. On the one occasion my cat got on with prey was due to how the AI camera detects prey. After a call to customer service they suggested a time delay which has worked a treat!

This cat flap has quite literally…

This cat flap has quite literally changed our lives. Our cat was bringing in mice and rats almost every night which was causing a lot of chaos in the middle of the night but since installing Only Cat this is no longer the case. The product is brilliant as is the app which gives us great satisfaction when we can see that it’s doing its job. The customer service was also great and faster shipping was offered so that we could install it before we went away. Money well spent!

Best cat invention ever

This is the best invention ever made for cats. Yes, its quite expensive, but if you ever had to tear down walls to remove dead mice, or had electrical cords chewed over, you know that is way more expensive. It has stopped every single attempt to bring gifts home.

Had it for a year now, and the product just keeps getting better. I have not reviewed it before, because it had some issues in the past, and some missing features that now are in place. The team keeps on working to make it better, and now its pretty much perfectly how I want it to be. They have implemented all the features I liked from Sureflap Connect, just made it better and more user friendly. I will never go back to any other brand.

The OnlyCat cat flap comes highly recommended

At first I found the cat flap very expensive, so I hesitated for a long time. But it is worth the money. OnlyCat reimbursed me the customs charge of around €35.
Setting it up caused problems on my home network. I exchanged messages back and forth for a long while. The staff were very motivated and helpful. Then all of a sudden it worked. In the first few weeks my cat's prey was blocked well. After that she gave up hunting. Who knows why. Only once was my cat let out at night even though the flap was set to "closed". The team asked me to carry out a remote unlock several times. After that there were no more problems. I can only recommend the flap. The manufacturer's team is great and takes care of questions and problems.

OnlyCat Katzenklappe ist sehr empfehlenswert

Ich fand die Katzenklappe zunächst sehr teuer, daher habe ich lange gezögert. Aber sie ist ihr Geld wert. Den Zollbetrag von ca. 35 € habe ich von OnlyCat erstattet bekommen.
Mit dem Einrichten gab es im Heimnetz Probleme. Ich habe lange hin und her geschrieben. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr motiviert und hilfsbereit. Dann lief es auf einmal. In den ersten Wochen wurde die Beute meiner Katze gut blockiert. Danach hat sie aufgegeben zu jagen. Warum auch immer. Nur einmal wurde meine Katze Nachts rausgelassen, obwohl die Klappe auf "zu" eingestellt war. Ich wurde vom Team aufgefordert mehrmals eine Fernentriegelung durchzuführen. Danach gab es keine Probleme mehr. Die Klappe kann ich nur empfehlen. Das Team des Herstellers ist super und kümmert sich bei Fragen und Problemen.

Poor customer service

I can’t comment on the product itself, as I decided not to use it, but my experience of the customer service hasn’t been positive.
Firstly, the shipping speed was a lot slower than advertised on the website. It says it typically ships in 2-3 days. They emailed me on the day I placed the order, saying they were getting ready to ship it but needed me to fill in a questionnaire first. I sent that back the same day… then heard nothing for almost a week, when they finally dispatched it.
In the meantime, I’d realised that my plug socket is on the wrong side of the door (not the hinge side), so to use this cat flap, I would either need to hinge the door on the other side, or get a socket put in specially. I decided it wasn’t worth the extra hassle, so when the cat flap arrived, I wanted to return it. Now, on the one hand, this was my mistake, but on the other hand, the law is quite clear that customers have the right to cancel and return online orders.
I emailed OnlyCat (as advised in their returns policy), clearly stating that I wished to exercise my legal right to cancel the order, and asking for the address to return it to. They replied later that day asking for a reason, but didn’t provide any information on how to return it. I replied with the reason and asked for the returns address a second time. Three days later, they still haven’t replied, so I’ve had to chase them up and ask for the address a third time (and counting).
This has all left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I wouldn’t order from OnlyCat again.
