What an excellent product. Worth every penny. Gone are the days of presents literally every night! It’s also nice to keep an eye on when our two cats come in and out if we are away for a day.

I would give 10 stars if I could! Cat flap has worked well in stopping my cat from bringing in her “gifts”. It really has restored my peace of mind so I no longer worry about finding small corpses around the house. The customer service is very good; very responsive, usually within a few hours although I have to say that I’ve not had much cause to contact them often as set up and overall use has been easy. I like the notifications letting me know when my cat goes out and comes in. The cost of the cat flap did make me pause initially but I would say it is well worth the money. Happy customer. I have had this amazing cat flap installed now for about three months and I can honestly say it’s worth every single penny. I can now enjoy un interrupted sleep and actually go up to bed stress free.

Firstly I have to say the cat flap seems to be working for its main purpose, it’s keeping prey out which is brilliant.
However, the app seems not to work fully, I don’t get notifications/videos as promised and it fails to recognise my two cats microchips so I am unable to set up an entry policy to allow only my cats inside. It’s a very expensive cat flap so I’m quite annoyed that’s it’s not fully working.
Contacted the support team, slow response that only dealt with one (admittedly self imposed) issue, but ignored the other problems also listed.
So not great but also great to not be getting little furries in the house.

Update 1/7/25
Very kindly the team have managed to sort out some of the issues and have identified an intermittent fault so are organising a replacement. Hopefully that’ll solve the problem.

What a life changing product this is! No more picking up dead mice, or hunting down live ones in the house! I saw results within the first few days of it being installed! Easy straight swap from a Sure flap (same shape), and being mains powered means it can never run out of batteries and lock my cat out!

This cat flap is a game changer. The technology is used in an intelligent way to simplify our life!
No more hunt of mouse during the night, no more dead parts of animals inside the house. I finally can sleep relaxed.
It works properly, has been smartly designed. The team is working hard to provide new features on the app and support the people for every question!

My husband was able to easily installed this flap in our existing flap space. Ever since then it has worked perfectly. Watching the videos of my cat trying to bring in “gifts” is hilarious! It has already paid for itself in the number of times it has stopped my cat from bringing in dead and alive animals. My carpets stay clean, I no longer dread seeing what “gifts” the cat left on the stairs in the morning, and I can just relax and enjoy my cats. They have the freedom to come and go at their leisure and I have the peace of mind that they won’t bring anything in. HIGHLY recommend!!

I was an early backer on this cat flap, because my cat would bring in mice, birds, moles and voles almost every day. Sometimes alive, most of the time to eat over the cream carpets. I was desperate, and willing to edit for the kickstarter to evolve over 8 or so months.
I'm glad I did. I don't even think about (let alone worry about) wildlife in my house any more, apart from the occasional notification from my phone that the cat has been denied access because she had something in her mouth.
It's been so so smooth. Initially, my tortoiseshell cat's fur was confused occasionally for prey, but OnlyCat included this footage into their training set, and I never have false positives (or false negatives) anymore. It. Just. Works.
One of the best uses of machine learning I've ever seen, a slick product, and a great support team. Thanks guys, you've saved my sanity.

Although it looks like I'm the outlier here, there are other sites where current owners are expressing frustrations like me. I was an original backer, got the unit installed, it had all sorts of random problems. My cat's microchip from 2008 was working just fine with his old Sureflap unit but this new OnlyCat unit wouldn't recognize his chip. So I tried a chip on a collar.... That worked sporadically. So I took him to the vet to get a brand new chip implanted & the unit would recognize it..... But not consistently. I have videos of my cat pawing on the door from outside (for like 50 seconds) trying to get in and it will not recognize the chip and allow entry. So I have to set it to 'allow all comers' meaning the local stray cat & racoons/etc. can get inside my home. BUT..... it did prevent him trying to bring in contraband one time since we installed it so THAT was awesome. OnlyCat ended up shipping me a replacement unit & when they got the original unit back, they charged me for parts to repair it. So caution to future buyers is DO NOT INSTALL THE UNIT PERMANENTLY until you know for certain it works because when you uninstall a unit that's been mounted with screws, glue, caulk, tape it can come apart like mine did. I figured it was defective so don't know why they would resell a defective unit but I don't think I should have had to pay for the parts for them to try to refurb it. But I want the project to succeed and I'm in over $1000 USD already with this project (paid contractor 3 times to come install, uninstall, reinstall, international phone calls for support, cost of vet visit, cost of unit) so I'm not giving up now. Because they're a small team, support has been unable to keep up with requests. At this point, I had a totally functioning Sureflap but it didn't detect prey and that's the ultimate goal so I'll keep what I've got & hope they eventually get it to work with my cat having both an old & new chip so I can turn on the chip recognition. Right now, it is only recognizing if the entrant has prey or not..... So I've gone 3 steps forward and 2 steps back in technology by replacing my old Sureflap unit but these are the cost of being on the leading edge of new developments.

I cannot praise this company and product enough. For years with different cats and in particular with our 2 year old boy we have had to live with them bringing in mice and rats and birds. Our young man brought in a live rat and dropped it in the bedroom for us, so kind! This cat flap is a game changer. I can go to bed and keep my bedroom door open and sleep easy. The company is fantastic as well, you ask a question and get an immediate response, they have also set up a fb page for purchasers of the cat flap so we can all share our experiences and help each other. They are fantastic and the product is out of this world.

I have never ever hoped so much that our cats would catch a mouse/bird and we could see the product in action, but when they eventually did after 1 month, it was simply amazing, THANK YOU Onlycat Team! 100% worth the money

I’m super happy with my Only Cat Flap. The app works great – it took me a bit of fiddling around at first to figure out how to customise everything myself, but once I got the hang of it, it was really handy.

After a while, I did run into a technical issue – the videos from the flap weren’t showing up in the app anymore. I sent them an email and got help the same day! They fixed the bug online really quickly. A couple of months later the same issue happened again, but again they responded fast and this time they sent me a whole new flap. I could send the old one back so they could check what went wrong. It all went super smoothly and throughout the whole thing, they were really friendly and helpful.

Now the new cat flap is working perfectly – no more mice getting in! (Although I had to laugh this morning because my cat left a mouse in the flap instead of on the ground… still outside though, so hey – it works!)

Also, the neighbour’s cat can’t get in anymore, which is a big win too.

Honestly, I really recommend this flap – and a big thanks to the team behind it. You’re fast, friendly, and super helpful – especially impressive for a startup!

And now I’m just enjoying watching the videos of my cats going in and out. Love it!

Great product and great team. This cat flap solved our problem of our cats bringing us “gifts” ( both dead and alive) into the house. Since installation, the flap has sensed and prevented every attempt. Gives us so much peace of mind now. In addition to the product, the OnlyCat team is super helpful with any issues or questions. In a world where smart technology seems intent on finding solutions for problems which don’t exist, OnlyCat have engineered a solution for a genuine (albeit first world) problem.

Most cat owners have experienced the challenge of their cat bringing in unwanted gifts, which can range from mildly inconvenient to full on (feline induced) blood baths - this is a cat flap which successfully fulfills all the features one would expect of a modern cat flap (chip entry, timed entry / exit, multiple cats) but with one added feature - an AI driven system to refuse entry to any cat carrying prey.

Sounds too good to be true, but it genuinely works - since we installed ours it has had an 100% success rate at detecting prey and preventing entry. Whats more, the system using machine learning to continuously improve.

This is a smart home product which even my wife endorses, and that tells you everything you need to know!

We’ve had several incidents of contraband being detected already and we’ve only had the cat flap for around a month.
We’re not waking up or coming home to dead or half dead animals for which I’m extremely grateful. Would like the cats to stop catching prey completely but there you go.

We have 3 cats, 2 of them are young boys. They have terrorised me with their "gifts" , dead, alive,half eaten ... we have tried the human traps but I still had to deal with the pray 🤮🥺. We installed cameras all over the house and i could see my cats bringing the little mice in, playing with them untill they got bored and let them go around the house or kill them. So upsetting. I did some research, and Onlycat came about and we have purchased it. I did not know I had to
wait for it quite a while, and my faith in solving the "gift"problem was down to 0 😕. I was so depressed coming home, thinking what am I going to find today.
After the cat flap instalation I felt relieved. No trace of mice or other prays. I thought, maybe it's not working by detecting the pray or the cats just grow out of it. I was looking at history but did not pay to much attention untill yesterday evening, when I kept scrolling down and lots of " Contraband detecting " showed up. OMG ..Honestly, I am so relieved and happy with the product. It brought peace to my mind, so Thank you guys , you have no idea how much this innovation did for my mental health.👏👏👏

This is a brilliant use of AI. It works exactly as described, and it’s very easy to set it up using the app. It has thwarted every attempt our cat has made to bring in prey, and we can even track her comings and goings. Yes, it’s expensive, but you are paying for the conception and development of this amazing technology. We can now ask friends to feed our cat while we are away without worrying what they have to deal with.

Simply amazing! Despite not being good at DIY I managed to easily exchange my old sure chip catflap for this one. It has stopped my cat from bringing dead birds, squirrels and rats into the house. Genius! Thanks so much only cat. You have saved my sanity!!
