What's with all the symbols?

A guide for understanding all the information surrounding an event.

Unlock for Jinx

We have a custom policy set up for Jinx, to only allow her to enter. This functionality is set in the Outdoor Motion rule at the bottom of the policy.

Event Symbols

> The Blue arrow shows the AI identification of the current image.

> The Green arrow shows the detected microchip ID, and also in which direction the motion was detected (arrows pointing down for entry, pointing up for departure).

> The Red arrow shows whether the OnlyCat is locked or not.

> The Pink arrow shows the AI’s determination of the event.

Nice try Jinx...

As you can see, our murderous feline friend’s attempt has been thwarted by the AI.

The AI’s determination has switched to ‘Contraband Detected’, and the padlock symbol has changed to locked.

Notifications

Once an event has been captured, we will be sent a notification with:

A still frame from the event video

The detected Microchip ID

The activity of the event based on the AI’s determination.

The date and time of the event.

Mystery Cat Allowed In?

As the notification displays the activity based on the AI’s determination, you will often see the following situation play out:

A cat approaches who is not allowed in as per our current active policy
The notification shows entry allowed

In this situation, the AI has determined that the approaching cat doesn’t have any contraband, so as far as it’s concerned, the cat is allowed to enter – so we get the ‘Entry Allowed’ text on the notification.

However, looking in the top-right of the event video, the padlock has remained closed. The OnlyCat device is still acting in accordance with our current active policy, and because Jinx’s microchip hasn’t been detected, the OnlyCat will not unlock for the mystery cat.

We do acknowledge this may seem slightly confusing to begin with and will look to make this clearer in the future.
